Noriko’s Visit

My friend, Noriko, came and visited me this past December.  She moved here from Japan several years ago, graduated from the U of M with her Masters and then got a job back in Japan.  I was so happy to be able to spend a day with her.  She’s getting into photography, so I decided to take her out to Fort Snelling Park to see what she was made of!  I played around with her camera and she played around with mine.  After looking at her photos, I promptly offered her a job as an assistant photographer. :)  She actually knew how to use my camera intuitively and had a great eye, so I was jealous. :)  I’ll show you a few that she took of Yours Truly at the end!

Noriko never smiles in photos, but I caught her unawares. :)

Thumbs up for photos of Photographers!

Noriko, I wish your stay was longer!  But I’m so glad that we were able to spend time together.  You’re a gifted photographer, so keep it up!!!  Thank you for staying in touch and for bringing joy into my life.

Megan & Joel’s Winter Wedding

You break it, you buy it.  That’s what Joel’s mom said to him the day that he broke Megan’s nose while they were running around outside as teenagers.  Little did he know that his mom’s words were, in a sense, prophetic.  Several years later, and after being friends almost their entire lives, Megan & Joel found that their friendship had turned into romance and into love.  I was so happy to be able to share in their joy on their special and personal winter wedding day.  Anyone who knows Megan’s family, knows that they are a warm, welcoming, hard-working, loving and totally hippy-awesome family.  Though Megan & Joel are starting a new life together, their wedding was truly a reflection of their lifestyle and genuineness.

Megan was so unbelievably cute.  She wanted to see Joel so bad!  I almost couldn’t catch her for their first look!  She just kept saying, “I want to see him!  I want to see him!  Can’t I just see him?”  Look how happy they are to see each other!

I was nervous about the cold and how it would affect the photos.  Also, I was nervous about the light!  Megan & Joel had an evening wedding, and in Minnesota, that means cold and dark.  But praise God, He gave us just enough delicious light!

Avery, loving on his sister. :)

This picture defines Megan & her sister, Corinne’s relationship.  Hahahah!

All of the lovely bridesmaids!

Megan’s beautiful family.

The guys.

Joel’s awesome family.

Their wedding was so personal and worshipful.  Megan had her bridesmaids walk down with candles while they sang a hymn learned in France.

I love this last shot.  Megan & Joel were just married.  Pure bliss.

Thank you, Megan & Joel, for letting Scott & me be a part of your wedding and your life.  We love you guys!

xoxo

Sophie!

My sweet friend, Sophie, asked me to a few photos of her so that she could publish some posters for her concert back home in Medan, Indonesia.  Sophie is an AMAZING piano player and I think there will be hundreds of people who attend her concert to hear her and support her.  I bet it will be fantastic!  Here are the photos: they were taken outside Ferguson Hall at the U of M.

The last photo is my favorite!  Sophie, you are beautiful!  I wish you the best as you travel and perform!  You have an amazing gift and I am sure you will bless people with your playing and your friendship.

  xoxo,

Kassy :)
